New Pilot Flying J Travel Center Opens in Tulare

Pilot Flying J recently announced the opening of a Flying J Travel Center in Tulare, CA in June – Pilot Flying J’s 24th location in California.

Located at 979 E. Paige Ave., California’s newest Pilot Flying J Travel Center is well positioned to attract trucks and vehicles travelling on nearby Highway 99.

It is reported that the new travel center development will provide 50-70 new local jobs and contribute $6.1 million annually in state and local tax revenues.

“We’re thrilled to serve the Tulare community and contribute to the local economy with our new Flying J travel center,” said Ken Parent, president of Pilot Flying J. “We’re committed to making a better day for our guests by bringing convenience, quality, great food and amenities to area residents and those traveling the roadways.”

  • 8 Gasoline Pumps Capable of Fueling 16 Vehicles at One Time with Two Additional 2 Gasoline Pumps for RVs
  • Tank Farms and Below Ground Tanks
  • Retail Propane Sales
  • 138 Public and 22 Prime (Reserved) Parking Spaces
  • CAT Scale

Vice Mayor Dennis Mederos attended the Grand Opening and commented “A Flying J is a great addition for the business community and the community at large, it’s quite a magnificent facility.”

Donnette Silva Carter, the chamber’s CEO. noted “We are very excited about 70 new jobs created. It provides a new option for people traveling through the community on Highway 99.”

Fiedler Group provided the fuel system design, related structural design, and permitting associated with the above ground diesel, below ground gasoline and DEF fuel systems.

The Tulare Travel Center represents the eighth Pilot Flying J project Fiedler Group has completed in California – previous fuel designs were completed at Pilot Flying J Travel Centers located in  Brawley, Tehachapi, Lathrop, Patterson, Otay Mesa, Dunnigan, and Lebec.
