Nikola Corporation, a world-wide leader in zero-emissions transportation and energy infrastructure solutions, announced the opening of the second HYLA Hydrogen refueling facility in Southern California. This new station, located near the Port of Long Beach at 2267 W. Gaylord St., began operations earlier this month and punctuates Nikola’s unwavering commitment to drive forward the decarbonization of heavy-duty transportation by facilitating the adoption of Nikola hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks.

The Long Beach station marks another milestone in Nikola’s strategic plan to establish a robust network of refueling solutions to support their hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks. “We are thrilled to inaugurate our second HYLA hydrogen refueling station in Southern California, marking a significant stride toward sustainable transportation,” said Ole Hoefelmann, President of Energy. “Our heartfelt appreciation extends to the City of Long Beach and the Long Beach Fire Department for their instrumental role in realizing this vision. With multiple stations in the pipeline this year, we are steadfast in our mission to pioneer zero-emission trucking solutions and drive positive environmental impact.”

Contracted to provide the design and permitting of both modular and permanent sites for Nikola, Fiedler Group is also excited to continue to contribute to the development of heavy-duty hydrogen fueling infrastructure throughout California. The HYLA refueling network offers a diverse portfolio of refueling solutions for Nikola’s hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles and other Class 8 customers which includes “behind-the-fence” solutions, partner stations such as FirstElement Fuels’ station at the Port of Oakland and partnerships with public truck stops.
