March 1st, 2016 by Fiedler Group
Matthew Epstein — Fiedler Group’s Director of Architecture — has been elected to the role of President of the American Institutes of Architecture (AIA), San Fernando Valley Chapter.
Epstein has previously played a leadership role in the AIA — in 2004 he was first elected to the Chapter’s Board of Directors, was previously elected Chapter President in 2008, and served as Vice President Elect in 2015.
Epstein’s continuous service on the Board coupled with his vast experience in the industry make him an ideal President for the Chapter.
Previously receiving awards from the AIA, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP), and the Masonry Institute of America, Epstein boasts over 30 years of multi-sector experience in architecture, construction, and development.
Following his induction, Epstein commented, “It’s an honor to be called upon to lead this Chapter. 2016 is the year when all Chapters of the AIA must be re-accredited. I look forward to leading AIA-SFV through this process, to emerge even stronger, more vital, and of greater usefulness to our membership.”
He received his Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University as well as a degree in Mathematics from Pomona College. He strives for innovation based on deep understanding, and thoroughness based on the highest standards of professional practice.
