Sonic, Riverside – AIA Award Recipient

Fiedler Group is the recipient of its second AIA award in the last two years.

While this Sonic Drive-In location in Riverside was featured in December 2015, it finds its way once again as a Fiedler Group featured project, most recently being the recipient of a 2016 AIA award.

The Riverside Sonic Drive-In location was built in the place of a demolished Mobile Service Station and is also the former location of the Citizens National Trust and Savings Bank.

Unlike the typical roadside Sonic Drive-in, this location was designed to blend the historic bank architecture with the mid-century Google-style elements.

The building also offers customers the option to drive-in, drive-thru or dine-in while car-hops deliver orders to waiting automobiles parked under broad, neon lit canopies.
