New Flying J Travel Center Opens in Patterson

Pilot Flying J announced the opening of its 20th California Travel Plaza in Patterson, California on December 10th.
Located at northeast corner of Sperry Ave. and Park Center Drive, the Flying J Travel Plaza is expected to add 70 local jobs and contribute $5.9 million annually in state and local tax revenues.
The 11.3 acre development includes three major customer components:
- 14,788 square foot travel center building with a drivers lounge, laundry, shower facility, restrooms, storage facilities and retail space for Cinnabon, Auntie Anne’s and PJ Fresh Marketplace.
- 2,798 square foot Wendy’s drive-thru restaurant within the travel center building
- 270,740 square foot truck yard with fueling stations, including:
- A 19’ tall, 121’ long canopy with eight dispensers designated for passenger vehicles.
- A recreational vehicle fueling station with two dispensers and a dump station.
- Nine diesel fueling positions under a 20’ tall, 159’ long canopy for commercial vehicles
- Two above ground diesel tank farms, each with four 12,000 gallon tanks
- One 25,000 gallon split underground gasoline tank
- Truck weighing station
- Parking for 150 truck and trailers
Fiedler Group provided the fuel and related structural design, and permitting associated with both the above ground diesel and below ground gasoline fuel systems.
The Patterson Travel Center represents the third Pilot Flying J project Fiedler Group has completed in California, with previous fuel designs provided at their Otay Mesa and Dunnigan facilities.
Additional Pilot Flying J Travel Center design efforts are currently underway in the state.
