November 1st, 2018 by Fiedler Group
Last month Fred Meyer opened its newest Oregon retail fueling facility in Salem Oregon.
Located at 3415 Commercial St. SE, near intersection of Madrona and Commercial, the new Fred Meyer fuel station is positioned behind the U.S. Bank and Taco Bell restaurant where the former Oregon Farm Bureau building once stood. The Fred Meyer retail store is located across the street on the northeast corner of the Madrona-Commercial intersection.
The new fuel center includes a 10,900 square foot fueling canopy, a 240 square foot prefabricated kiosk, nine fuel dispensers, a break room, two underground storage tanks, propane tank and almost 44,000 sq. ft. of landscaping.
Site preparation for the nearly 97,000 sq. ft. site included the demolition the Oregon Farm Bureau building and two houses on Madrona Avenue SE. Additionally, three other homes on Madrona were relocated.
Offsite work associated with this development included the construction of a new drive approach and street widening on Madrona Ave. adjacent to the project site, widening of Madrona at the Madrona-Commercial intersection, related utility relocations, installation of a new traffic signal pole ADA accessibility upgrades and street restriping and signage.
Fiedler Group provide all civil design, architectural, electrical and fuel design required for the project development. Offsite street design and traffic signal design was provided by Mackenzie, and Landscape design was addressed by Nature By Design, Inc.
Expedited permitting services were also provided by Fiedler Group, which included obtaining all required approvals from City of Salem and Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
Construction of this new fuel station was Portland-based Meng-Hannan Construction.
