Food 4 Less Opens New San Diego Fuel Station

Last month Food 4 Less opened its newest retail fuel station at 5951 University Ave., San Diego.
Located on a 33,000 square foot lot within the University Square Shopping Center, the new fuel station includes a 4,752 square foot fueling canopy, a 112 square foot kiosk, six fuel dispensers, two underground storage tanks with associated fueling system components, underground detention basin and landscaping.
The station features the trademark Food 4 Less red and silver canopy and kiosk fascia, and a special island orientation designed to provide clear, one way direction of travel on the narrow lot which was impacted by utility easements.
Fiedler Group provided the entitlement processing which included a Focused Transportation Analysis, Parking Analysis, Green House Gas Study, and multiple presentations to the Eastern Area Communities Planning Committee.
Fiedler Group’s design development efforts included all architectural, civil, structural, landscape, fuel, and electrical design required for the project development.
Expedited permitting services were also provided by Fiedler Group, which included obtaining the critical grading permit prior to the implementation of the City’s new Design Standards, all other approvals from City of San Diego, County of San Diego HAZ Mat and San Diego APCD.
Construction of this new fuel station was Gardena based Charles E. Thomas Co.
