Clean Energy Fuels, Lathrop

December 30th, 2014 by Fiedler Group

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. just completed construction of a liquefied-compressed natural gas (LCNG) fueling site in Lathrop CA.

Located at 1262 E Madruga Road in Lathrop CA, off Highway 120 and conveniently situated between Interstate 5 and California Highway 99, the fueling station will service local LNG and/or CNG fleets, as well as the City of Lathrop, which will be expanding their fleet to include CNG vehicles.

The City of Lathrop entered into a development agreement in April 2014 and revised it in July 2014 based off of a grant from the San Joaquin Valley Air pollution Control District to help assist in the development of alternative fuel infrastructure.

Fiedler Group was commissioned to complete due diligence, entitlementpermit processing, and engineering plans for this site.

The site’s engineering also included a re-design of on-site circulation to allow the existing tenant to maintain secured access, all while providing Clean Energy separate 24-hour access.

The fuel site was designed to be constructed in two phases — with the first phase including one 18,000 gallon storage vessel, two LNG dispensers, LCNG Vaporizer and CNG storage vessels, along with two CNG dispensers and the electrical and safety equipment required to operate the facility.

The alternative fuel site is approved to allow up to two 18,000 gallon LNG storage vessels and four of each alternative fuel dispenser (LNG and CNG).

The site will furnish both LNG and CNG fuels in order to service a full range of natural gas-powered vehicles to both the fleets and general public in the central San Joaquin Valley.
