Portland, Oregon Lays Down Strict Resolution Impacting Fossil Fuel Gas Stations
December 8th, 2015 by Fiedler Group
Gas stations will be more difficult to be found in Portland.
Under new resolution, the city council of Portland, Oregon has banned construction of any new gas stations to prevent further global warming.
The law pertains not just to natural gas fuel stations, but to facilities that transport or store oil, gasoline, coal, or natural gas within the limits of the City.
Adriana Voss-Andrae, the director of a local Portland environmental group commented, “Our work is not done yet…there is a good chance that the codifying language is going to be strong and signal to the fossil fuel industry that Portland is not open for business.”
Understandably, environmentalists consider this resolution a monumental victory.
