Number of Alternative Fuel Stations in U.S. Nears 10,000

According to PEI’s May 2012 Tulsa Letter, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) now estimates there are nearly 10,000 alternative fuel stations across the lower 48 states.
Included in this estimate are these alternative fuels:
- hydrogen,
- liquefied natural gas (LNG),
- biodiesel,
- compressed natural gas (CNG),
- higher ethanol-gasoline blends (E85),
- propane, and
- electricity.
