GasBuddy App Names Low-Price Retail Fuel Winners
January 26th, 2016 by Fiedler Group
After combing through over 650-million price submissions, GasBuddy selected low-price retail fuel winners.
The GasBuddy app boasts over 50 million downloads and helps consumers find cheap gasoline in their areas.
The overall low-price winner — for the fourth year in a row — was Costco.
The wholesale club topped gas savings with fuel priced more than 19.8 cents per gallon lower than its competitors.
This type of savings one reason why Costco was also ranked number 1 in twelve different states.
Among extra-large fuel brands, Arco featured its gas 17.6 cents per gallon lower than its competitors.
Quik Stop — a Kroger brand — was the low price leader in the traditional convenience store medium class, with gasoline at a 17.8 cent discount, while Rotten Robbie — a Santa Clara-based chain — featured gasoline 13.7 cents per gallon lower than its competitors.
Another Kroger brand — Food 4 Less — came in first for extra small stores, offering gas for 18.8 cents per gallon lower than regional prices.
