In March 2014, Tesoro Refining & Marketing Company re-opened its El Centro-located fueling facility.

The existing station — located on the corner of Imperial Avenue and Scott Avenue — was based on an older layout and was slated to be updated with an image refresh.

The existing canopies and fueling systems were removed and replaced with a new 42′ x 54′ canopy and eight new fueling positions that dispense both gasoline and diesel. What’s more, the canopy’s new LED lighting system was paired with new perimeter LED area lights.

New underground storage tanks, piping, and electrical were also installed with new landscape design that complemented a new, natural-colored concrete driveway and parking area.

The existing store was also refreshed with a new fascia, equipment screening, and two-tone paint application.

Fiedler Group provided the entitlement, civil, fuel, landscape and electrical design, as well as all required permitting services associated with the project.

The contractor for this project was Valley Petroleum out of Imperial.
