City of Pasadena Completes CNG Expansion Project
November 22nd, 2016 by Fiedler Group
Earlier this month the City of Pasadena successfully completed the expansion of their Pasadena City Yards CNG Fueling facility located at 345 West Mountain Street, Pasadena.
The project was an expansion of the City’s 2009 CNG facility installation which had been funded with grants from South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) and Mobil Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC).
The 2009 project included installation of new gas meter, dryer, compressor, 20 time fill dispensers, one fast fill dispenser, CNG storage vessels, priority sequential panel and new electrical switchgear.
This recently completed expansion included a new Atlas Copco reciprocating 300 scfm compressor delivering 4500 psig of compressed gas, a 22,000 scf expansion of the existing storage vessel rack, a second Atlas Copco fast fill CNG dispenser, new priority panel and associated piping.
Funding for the expansion of existing facility was granted by the SCAQMD Governing Board to address the City’s increasing demand for CNG fueling of it’s growing CNG bus fleet, existing CNG fleet requirements, and need for a back-up compressor.
Fiedler Group was awarded the design contract for this CNG expansion which included:
- Schematic design documents
- Preparation of civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural construction documents, Project Manual and Technical Specifications
- Permit Applications for all required agencies having jurisdiction.
- Bidding Support Services
- Construction Administration Services
