UPS Uses Access Point Lockers to Expand Presence
July 19th, 2016 by Fiedler Group
UPS Access Point(TM) lockers serve as pick-up points, 24-hours a day. And now, UPS is working with 7-Eleven and other independent retail operators to offer Access Point lockers in their establishments.
United Parcel Service (UPS) current maintains nine lockers in Chicago.
The company’s intent is to expand this figure to over 300 locations, nationwide.
The new, more convenient delivery locations would be available throughout Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington (state).
In the future, the company plans to expand into California, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Texas.
Aside from providing new convenience to the UPS customer, the Access Point lockers also make it easier for online retailers to increse sales and improve the online shopping experience by being able to fulfill transactions on a more streamlined timeline.
Kalin Robinson, director of the UPS locker program commented, “UPS Access Point lockers can be easily access when it fits the shopper’s schedule, giving an online retailer added value to present at checkout.”
