Family Dollar — a North Carolina-based variety discount store chain — opened its Colton location July 31, 2014.

Located at the corner of N. Ranch Avenue and Mill Street, the new Family Dollar location is the second location which Fiedler Group was retained to design and permit– the first location opened in San Bernardino in 2013.

Developed by Colton Dynasty Limited Partnership, the Rialto Family Dollar site is 51,608 square feet and features 44 parking spaces and 10,620 square feet of landscaping.

The 9,180 square foot building was manufactured by Nucor Building Systems and features a standing seam roof, stucco wall finishes, stone wainscot on both sides of the store’s entryway, and metal accent bands on both the fascia and above the wainscot.

Leveraging the Nucor building shell, Fiedler Group provided the balance of the architectural design, as well as the building’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design. Additionally, Fiedler Group provided all the civil and landscape design required for the new location.

The permitting services Fielder Group provided included the required entitlement processing and all building, grading, and landscape approvals.

A third Family Dollar location is currently under construction in Westmorland.
