New Lompoc Convenience Store Opens
October 18th, 2018 by Fiedler Group
Last month Moller Investment Group re-opened its new Lompoc convenience store, located at 801 East Ocean Avenue.
Initially constructed in the early 1960’s as a small convenience store with fuel islands and a 2,700 sq. ft. repair building, this recently completed project included the demolition of all of the above ground improvements and the construction of a new 3,560 SF convenience store and new 3,462 sq. ft canopy with 10 fueling positions.
Architecturally, the new store presents a Contemporary Mediterranean style with earth-tone plaster finishes. The building features a main tower element in the center along with two smaller pop-out elements on the corners, providing architectural interest and breaking up the massing.
The roofline features a primarily flat parapet roof, except for the center tower which features a hipped roof. The bases of columns and pilasters are finished in a grey blend stone veneer. The side elevations feature arches which are inset into the walls, providing shadow and dimension.
The fuel canopy was finished in a horizontal band of Conserv Fuel green color, topped with decorative eaves to match the main building architecture.
Fiedler Group’s design services for this project included all building and site design including civil, design, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structure, landscape and fuel design. Permit expediting services provided by Fiedler Group included processing and acquisition of Conditional Use Permit approval, and permit expediting with all applicable City, County and APCD jurisdictional authorities.
